Spherical meniscus lenses are widely used as focusing transfer optics and output optics. So far the meniscus lenses have lower aberration spot values than plano-convex ones, they are usually used at the power laser systems or in the image transmitting schemes.

* - Crystaltechno Ltd. manufactures CVD ZnSe (Zinc Selenide) meniscus lenses for high power CO2 laser machines. Available ZnSe meniscus diameters are (25.4 - 50.8) mm.
We produce ZnSe meniscus lenses and other ZnSe optical components from CVD Zinc Selenide laser grade material. Basic characteristics of CVD ZnSe (Zinc Selenide) laser grade material: transparency in spectral range (0.5- 20 ) microns, index of absorption 0.0005 (1/cm ) at 10.6 microns; grain size (50-70 ) microns.

Fresnel losses of ZnSe polished surface are equal 17% at one side (because of high refractive index n=2.4 at 10.6 microns), thus the Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) lens transmission equals 68.9% at 10.6 micron. We offer two sides antireflection (AR/AR) coating for ZnSe lens both for the IR spectral range (3 - 12) microns and for one wavelength (10.6 microns or another).
