MATERIAL – CVD ZnSe (Zinc Selenide).


CVD ZnSe (Zinc Selenide) optical plane parallel windows are widely used as transfer optics and protective windows.

Crystaltechno Ltd. manufactures different standards optical windows from CVD grown ZnSe material (Chemical Vapor Deposition Zinc Selenide), namely ZnSe windows (ZnSe round and rectangular plates), ZnSe protective windows, ZnSe Brewster windows. Besides, due to using advantages of CVD growth technology we produce Zinc Selenide optical windows with complex shape and profiled mounting grooves according to customer’s requirement. ZnSe windows are used for infrared systems including CO2 laser optics.

We produce optical windows and other optical components from CVD grown ZnSe laser grade material. Basic characteristics of CVD Zinc Selenide laser grade material: grain size (50-70) microns, index of absorption 0.0005 (1/cm) at 10.6 microns, transparency in spectral range (0.5 -20) microns. ZnSe optical windows dimensions - (3 – 100) mm, thickness 20mm. CVD-Zinc Selenide chemical purity - 99.999%.

Large sizes and another shape of ZnSe CVD windows are also available according to customer’s requirement.

You can see spectral transmittance of ZnSe uncoated polished windows (thickness 10 mm).

Because of high refractive index (n=2.4 at 10.6 microns), Fresnel losses of ZnSe polished surface are equal 17% (at one side), thus the Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) window transmission equals 68.9% at 10.6 micron. If we take into account subsequent multiple internal beam reflections inside of ZnSe plate, then transmission (Tw) of a uncoated ZnSe window Tw = 70.9% (without absorption).

We offer two sides antireflection (AR/AR) coating for ZnSe windows both for one wavelength (10.6 microns or another) and for the IR spectral range (3 – 12) microns. Spectral transmission of AR/AR coated Zinc Selenide window - up to 99%.
